Guidelines for Reviewers

The REVISTA DE ECONOMÍA POLÍTICA Y DESARROLLO is a biannual print and electronic publication of the DEPARTAMENTO DE CIENCIAS ECONÓMICAS Y JURÍDICAS at the UNIVERSIDAD NACIONAL DE MORENO. Each volume consists of two annual issues. The official language of the journal is Spanish, but contributions in English, French, and Portuguese will also be accepted.

The purpose of the publication is to spread academic debates and scientific contributions in the fields of economic theory, international relations, and international political economy, primarily under the premise of freedom of thought, plurality of ideas, and scientific rigor. It also aims to promote both theoretical and methodological advancements in the science of economics in general and the improvement of educational quality in the discipline at the Higher Education level.

The journal is committed to adhering to general academic quality standards. All articles will be evaluated by members of the Editorial Committee to verify compliance with the journal’s requirements and writing standards and, subsequently, by two external evaluators following a double-blind review process.

To assist, organize, and standardize the evaluation process, the REVISTA DE ECONOMÍA POLÍTICA Y DESARROLLO will request external reviewers to complete a confidential evaluation form. In this form, the evaluator must indicate whether the article or review meets specific criteria, as well as point out any aspects they consider necessary. The reviewer will also indicate whether the evaluated work should be accepted for publication, accepted with minor revisions, accepted with major revisions, or rejected for publication. If recommending corrections or rejection, the reviewer may explain their decision, detail their specific suggestions, or add additional comments. External reviewers will be required to assess both the content and the form of the submitted works within a period not exceeding 45 days.

The REVISTA DE ECONOMÍA POLÍTICA Y DESARROLLO will communicate the evaluators’ decisions and comments to the authors, maintaining the confidentiality of the evaluations. The Editorial Committee is responsible for making the final decision on the publication of the works received.

The publication will not depend on the theoretical framework, perspective, or methodology used by the authors; the decision to publish will only be based on the quality, rigor, and implicit standards of all academic work, with preference given to unpublished documents.

Under no circumstances may the decision of the Editorial Committee be appealed. The final approval of publications is subject to changes in style, form, and content deemed necessary by the editor, which will be communicated to the author with a specified deadline.
